FabLab BiH supports full-cycle R&D, enabling innovators to move from early-stage ideas to market-ready solutions through structured development, advanced infrastructure, and commercialization support.

Research & Development at FabLab

The R&D lab connects and extends all of FabLab’s core technology domains—AI, AR/VR/XR, Biotech, Rapid Prototyping, and Collaborative Robotics—allowing cross-disciplinary innovation through shared workflows and tools. This environment is designed to support the full TRL1–TRL9 journey, with strong integration of IP services, investor access, and iterative technical development.

Beyond the dedicated labs, the R&D space includes a growing range of specialized equipment to support experimentation and systems-level development. These include:

  • Aerial platforms: quadcopters, hexacopters, and octocopters
  • Optical and infrared microscopes for material and surface analysis
  • Precision metrology systems and optical benches
  • Spectrometers for chemical and light-based measurement
  • IoT development platforms, smart sensors, and embedded systems

These assets allow us to rapidly test, evaluate, and integrate technologies across domains, providing a flexible environment for researchers, startups, and consortia to build functional, validated, and scalable solutions.
