Youth creating a Sustainable Future through Green Technologies!

On Monday, September 29, 2025, the final conference of the Erasmus+ project GreenTech Entrepreneurship Challenge Hub (GTECH) was held at the ASA Institute Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, organized by FabLab Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The conference was officially opened and welcomed by Prof. Dr. Seid Masnica, Advisor for Higher Education, Science, and Technology at the Federal Ministry of Education and Science; Prof. Senada Salihović, Director of the Institute for Pre-University Education Development of Canton Sarajevo; and Dr. Sc. Miro Hegedic, partner and founder of the innovation agency Smion. Their words of support emphasized the importance of innovative learning models and cooperation between education and industry for the future of BiH and the entire region.

GTECH connects education and industry to strengthen teachers’ capacities and promote entrepreneurship in the field of green technologies. During the project, a Challenge Hub platform was developed, bringing together students from across BiH and becoming the foundation for innovation competitions. The project involved 270 students from 15 schools and 12 industry partners, with 30 teachers participating in international training in Slovenia and Croatia. Results were presented to over 90 participants from 24 schools.

At the conference, key project results were presented, especially the Challenge Hub platform. Students shared experiences of teamwork in solving real-life challenges, teachers discussed their role as mentors, and company representatives highlighted the importance of cooperation with schools and youth. Special attention was given to recommendations for integrating the Challenge-Based Learning model into the education system of BiH and the region.

Key lessons from the conference:
– Challenge-Based Learning in practice: students demonstrated creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills through solving real challenges.
– Teachers as mentors: their role transformed from lecturers to guides and motivators.
– Cooperation between schools and industry brings value: companies gain fresh ideas, and students gain insight into market needs.
– Green technologies create new jobs: linking sustainability with entrepreneurship.
– Systemic changes are essential: integrating the CBL model into educational policies and plans.
– International cooperation accelerates learning: experiences from BiH, Croatia, and Slovenia confirm the power of regional connection.

A big thank you to all partners, schools, teachers, and students for their effort and enthusiasm. Together we are building a sustainable future!
