The “Zero Waste Municipalities” project was a FabLab-led youth innovation initiative that promoted circular economy practices through design thinking and digital fabrication. Targeting high school and university students from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project encouraged participants to create new, useful products by repurposing waste materials and outdated school equipment. Students joined FabLab workshops and used 3D technologies such as printing and scanning to prototype their ideas. The initiative built awareness of environmental sustainability, fostered creativity, and promoted community-driven innovation. Selected teams had their prototypes refined and showcased to the public, demonstrating how grassroots innovation could contribute to reducing municipal waste. The project also strengthened youth skills for future careers in green technology and sustainable design.
