The “Amphibians and Reptiles of Bosnia and Herzegovina” project is a scientific exhibition that showcases all known species of amphibians and reptiles found across BiH up to 2024, presented in their natural habitats. FabLab BiH played a central role in the realization of this project by developing 3D models of 75% of the featured species through scanning, modeling, and printing technologies.
The remaining models were presented using traditional specimen preparation. Working closely with the National Museum of BiH (ZMBiH), FabLab digitized biological samples from the herpetological collection, bringing them to life in highly detailed and educational formats. The use of digital fabrication allowed for realistic, tactile models that significantly enhanced visitor engagement, science communication, and preservation awareness. The exhibition combined technology, ecology, and museum practice, setting a new standard for science outreach in the region.
