The project “STEMIE and 3D scanning” was implemented from October to December 2020 with funding from the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts. The primary goal was to strengthen FabLab’s capacity by acquiring a RangeVision Spectrum 3D scanner equipped with a TL turntable, enabling inclusive STEM education and prototyping. The scanner allows FabLab users to digitize real-world objects, create CAD models, test product quality, and produce new solutions in healthcare, design, and engineering.
Awareness and news about the new capacities of FabLab were raised through the media, and new STEM school and additive manufacturing training programs were prepared. The project helped position FabLab for national outreach, with plans for expansion into Mostar and Banja Luka. The scanner became a core element in FabLab’s educational and technical strategy for democratizing innovation and fostering 21st-century skills.
