The STEM – Design Centar project was developed to establish an open-access STEM innovation lab at FabLab Sarajevo, equipped with specialized monitors and graphic tablets. It provides young people, especially students and high schoolers from STEM fields, with a space for hands-on learning in digital design, prototyping, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
The center addresses systemic gaps in digital education and accessibility in BiH, where the student-to-computer ratio is significantly below OECD standards. Key activities included procuring modern equipment, organizing 4 STEM design workshops (2 for high school students, 2 for university students), and promoting the center through FabLab channels. Over 1,580 young people were reached, including 80 direct participants in the workshops. The center supports youth education, innovation, and early career development in digital industries. Monitoring was ensured through regular reporting and transparent communication with the donor.
