The Spektometar project was an internally led research and development initiative conducted by FabLab BiH in 2022. The goal was to design and prototype a low-cost spectrometer intended for use in schools, labs, and educational institutions to support STEAM education. The device enables demonstration of light characteristics, wavelength awareness, and substance analysis based on light absorption or transmission across different color spectrums.
In addition to the spectrometer itself, the project also included the development of a dedicated light source, optimized to function as a paired unit for experimentation and demonstrations. By focusing on affordability and accessibility, the device is intended for future commercialization, particularly in school science programs, providing a valuable and practical tool for introducing students to optics and scientific measurement in an interactive and visual manner.
