In 2024, FabLab BiH supported SIM-KOMERC d.o.o., a plastic products manufacturer from Kakanj, in digitalizing its supply chain and production systems. The initiative aimed to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness through the implementation of a multi-phase transformation plan. The project involved:
– Analysis of current workflows and facility layout
– Definition and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) based on 5S and LEAN principles
– Deployment of a time tracking and access control system using RFID hardware and cloud integration (SYSTECH)
– Optimization of production efficiency using OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) calculations and data analysis
– Full integration of production workflows with Pantheon ERP software, improving real-time visibility of stock, production stages, and material consumption.
A detailed SWOT analysis was conducted to identify improvement opportunities in hardware, HR, infrastructure, and services. Employees were trained on new procedures and systems. The outcome was a substantial boost in operational coordination, inventory transparency, and responsiveness to customer demands. No risks were encountered during the project.
