In 2024, FabLab BiH, through the EU4DigitalSME Innovation Voucher Scheme, collaborated with Grateh d.o.o. Mostar to design and develop an innovative metal safety plate for climbers. The project aimed to improve safety and user satisfaction while increasing the company’s competitiveness in the high-altitude sports equipment market. The development process included market research, concept design, technical detailing, prototyping, iterative testing, and optimization.
The final product meets strict safety and performance standards and has entered the pre-certification phase in both Germany and the Czech Republic. By completing this project, Grateh successfully created a local product for the domestic and export markets that offers affordability without compromising on quality. The solution contributes to sustainable tourism, sports safety, and economic development, promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as an origin of innovation in outdoor safety equipment.
