In 2024, FabLab BiH supported Terrasit Insulation d.o.o. in modernizing its operations through the implementation of a digital maintenance monitoring platform. The primary goal was to improve operational efficiency and risk management by integrating a real-time system for equipment maintenance and process visibility. Following a detailed company-wide analysis, key weaknesses were identified: lack of digital records, no preventive maintenance alerts, and poor integration between production and procurement tracking. After evaluating several systems (SafetyCulture, UpKeep, Fiix, Metrikon), the Metrikon platform was selected due to its compatibility with Terrasit’s existing Microsoft 365/SharePoint infrastructure and availability in local languages.
FabLab facilitated:
– Concept design and technical requirement specification
– Functional testing through demo access and system trial
– Full staff training on data entry, alert generation, analytics, and dashboard usage
– Integration of the solution into daily operations
The system enabled Terrasit to transition from manual logs to automated, real-time analytics, reducing unplanned downtime and allowing more strategic decision-making regarding repairs, inventory, and resource allocation. The project was completed without delays or risks.
