In 2024, FabLab BiH supported BAUMAX d.o.o. through the EU4DigitalSME Innovation Voucher Scheme to develop a comprehensive intellectual property strategy and market readiness study for a new digital software solution for the construction industry. The project included a detailed Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analysis, which screened over 2,000 existing patents and evaluated the legal landscape for launching the product in Europe.
Additionally, FabLab conducted trademark availability analysis for potential platform names (egradiliste, Global Construction Tool) and assessed the patentability of proposed innovations. Based on these findings, FabLab developed a full IP protection roadmap, with legal and strategic recommendations, and prepared documentation for patent and trademark application. The service ensured the legal validity, differentiation, and future competitiveness of the solution in the regional and EU markets.
