The ConnectSEE project aimed to ramp up and extend a regional network of Teaching and Learning Factories (TLFs) in Sarajevo (BiH), Bucharest (ROU), and Zagreb (CRO). It connected these new centers with existing TLFs in St. Ingbert (GER), Vienna (AUT), and a robotics lab in Tartu (EST), fostering collaboration under the principles of Industry 4.0. A total of five TLFs were benchmarked under EIT Manufacturing and IALF models. The project aimed to deliver practical training for students, job seekers, and professionals by offering both technical and non-technical courses tailored to local industry needs.
FabLab Sarajevo established a collaborative robotics laboratory in twinning action with TU Wien, enhancing capacity for Industry 4.0 demonstrations such as predictive maintenance and AI integration. Training was delivered in five languages (EN, DE, HR/BS, RO, ET) across six locations, helping reskill new staff and enabling sustainable business models. It also connected the Balkan region to broader EU innovation networks, aligning with efforts like Learn4SME and paving the way for long-term ecosystem development and technology transfer in manufacturing education.
