CompetenSEE introduces hybrid professional training for Industry 4.0 across South-East Europe using a network of Teaching and Learning Factories (TLFs).

Project Description

CompetenSEE is an international initiative to improve vocational education in South-East Europe by designing and implementing a hybrid, problem-based training course tailored to local industrial needs and Industry 4.0 readiness. The course structure combines e-learning, hands-on practice, and remote learning, and is delivered via a network of Teaching and Learning Factories (TLFs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Croatia. Hybrid learning is increasingly important for TLFs due to flexibility, cost efficiency, reusability, and accessibility—overcoming common limitations.

The program closes skill mismatches, promotes tailored upskilling, and increases regional competitiveness. It also opens new markets for commercialization across the region. The training focuses on three core learning paths relevant to assembly workstations: enhanced quality control, human-robot collaboration, and lean manufacturing 4.0. All courses are delivered in multiple languages and customized to local and European labor market needs. The project fosters a cross-border learning factory network, enabling ongoing cooperation, technology transfer, and knowledge exchange across SEE and the broader EU.
