The global FabLab Network is a vibrant community of over 1,800 labs in more than 100 countries—uniting makers, educators, artists, engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs. It shares a foundational mission: democratizing access to tools for invention, enabling people everywhere to learn, prototype, and create using advanced digital fabrication technologies.
While rooted in this global movement, FabLab B&H has evolved into a next-generation innovation center—moving beyond the traditional FabLab model. Today, it operates as a Digital Innovation Hub (DIH), Test Bed, and Living Lab, fostering cross-sector collaboration between industry, academia, startups, and public stakeholders to drive green and digital transformation.
FabLab B&H is officially recognized as a Centre of Vocational Excellence (ETF CoVE) and serves as the EIT Urban Mobility Hub for Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, and Slovenia for the 2025–2029 period. It also actively contributes to EIT Manufacturing and EIT Digital, connecting regional innovation actors to Europe-wide ecosystems in sustainable mobility, advanced manufacturing, and digital entrepreneurship.
In this expanded role, FabLab B&H continues to champion the principles of the global FabLab Network—while serving as a regional catalyst for education, deep-tech innovation, and impact-driven entrepreneurship.
